The 2017 TRICA Summer Camp offerings...

UKULELE JAM: June 5-9
Strum like there is no tomorrow! Bluegrass and folk music inspired, this camp supplies each student with a colorful ukulele and basic instruction. By the end of the week students will be able to play and perform selected ukulele songs for a demonstration jam session on Friday the final 15 minutes of camp.

GIRLS ROCK: June 19-23
Girls will amp it up as curriculum is developed to empower them using the tools of music education to foster self-esteem and confidence. During this week girls will form a band, learn to play instruments, write their own songs and perform together. Instruments are provided. Students will perform a band concert the last 15 min of class on the final day.

BREAK DANCE: July 10-15
An American born phenomenon that reached global status, but it all started by one kid in the 1970’s in NYC. Live synth music. Participants will learn steps, rehearse choreography and be joined by local professional break dancers (whom will wow your socks off with their moves) for an old school sidewalk performance on Saturday at the Boise Farmer’s Market.  Students will learn and perform the empowering story of breakdance in America.

ABBA DANCE SHOW: July 17-22
Featuring the legendary music of ABBA, students learn and rehearse choreography in the engaging TRICA style filled with games, challenges and dynamic teaching techniques that foster a love and appreciation for basic dance. We work together to create dance show to be performed on Saturday at the Boise Farmers Market.

MUSICAL THEATRE COMEDY: July 31-Aug. 4
An introduction to musical theater featuring humor, acting, singing and dancing. Experience the magic of being in a musical and how an actor connects emotionally with an audience. Invite friends and family for a free mini-performance the final 15 minutes of class on the the last day of camp.

FLAMENCO DANCE: Aug. 7-11
A fiery fusion of passion, beauty and strength as students (boys and girls) learn the foundations of Flamenco Dance including stomping, clapping, and traditional techniques. Featuring live music on the Flamenco Guitar and cultural instruction culminating with a mini-performancebased on a Gypsy Dance from Southern Spain for friends and family on Friday the final 15 minutes of camp.

All camps in three age levels:
Level One: 3-5 years
Level Two: 6-8 years
Level Three: 9-12 years, as teaching assistants

Tuition is $200 for first camp and $125 for each additional camp within a family. No student is ever turned away for inability topay. Please call TRICA office for private and accessible financial assistance.
